Now Native DSD over ASIO is the rage so I actually have an ASIO Transcoder device that strips the DSD out of the SACD component's DoP stream.

Then the SACD component itself just started doing DoP directly. Everything was going to DoP playback so you had to have a transcoder to intercept the native DSD from the SACD component and wrap it as DoP with the right flags. The old method (like before I even got in to it) was a hell of a lot more convoluted. Nothing worked because, silly me I went with the newest versions.

edit: it could be drivers removing it when in ASIO mode to prevent issues? All my DACs in the last three years have quite literally used plain vanilla reference XMOS drivers. My SMSL SU-8, or my Sabaj DA3, or even my now departed SMSL M8 didn't quite behave that way. That is odd.and I have no clue what that could even be. I’ve noticed that when I play SACD iso files, the foobar spectrogram (or spectrum) on the bottom left corner stops working. Which steps, which plugins? Some of the directions are wrong and outdated as the plugins have changed.
